My review about the Phoenix: in the three months I have been here I have been very happy with the quality of the general services I have received since day one. The staff has been responsive, attentive, and proficient with my requests. Specifically, the nurses and their assistants. The maintenance and housekeeping staff as well do an excellent job as well as John, the dietitian here. My criticism would have to be that, even though the occupational and physical therapists have been extremely polite and skilled, the access to the gym has been limited. Additionally, I have not received all of the medical records that I have continuously requested. Overall, I am very pleased and grateful for the quality of care at Phoenix and wish to see more openness from the administration in respect to the suggestions and collaboration with the residents. For such a large building as the Phoenix I yet again state my satisfaction with how the facility is run and maintained. I would like to emphasize as an elder the workload upon the nursing staff is tremendous. Somehow, the quality of care they personally need to render the services they do should be rewarded much more than I witness as per the brunt and workload on them. I've witnessed perhaps 4 shifts around the 24 hour clock and how these nurses do the work they perform is nothing short of phenomenal. I would surely like to hear if there would be some way to hear the nurses' unbiased review on what would make their job better. Finally, let me thank almighty God for Phoenix and whatever it is that allows this facility to operate on this level that I have witnessed. AMEN!

I don't like medical institutions and have been in and out of a few of them. There is no place like home, but whether I like it or not I'm here. The therapy has been good and the evening in-bed therapy has been really helpful. I find myself sometimes being depressed at having to be at a medical facility but I'm getting better and better and am thankful to be closer to going home. The truth is that I don't want to be at a medical building but I have to be, and I'm glad that, given the situation I'm facing, that I'm in a community with good therapy and dedicated staff. There's quite a few people that are really helpful. Of course you get some folks with an attitude but overall my stay has been pretty good. I just can't wait to get home, but I'm thankful to the Phoenix for helping while I can't be there yet.

Phoenix Rehab was amazing. The moment we stepped into the building, we have the friendly staff from reception, the nurses, social workers, doctors were all amazing. The entire staff was warm, friendly, and amazing to work with. Everyone updated me on my father, who's at Phoenix Rehab for physical therapy after a fall that broke his leg, as much as possible. They made my father feel welcome and with extreme care. The rooms and facility are very clean. My father is extremely happy to be at Phoenix Rehab. Thank you to the entire staff at Phoenix Rehab.

Round the clock fun! From 9AM on, construction workers pulling, hammering, and grinding all day. Then comes midnight to 2AM, noisy trash collecting starts, and delivery trucks arriving through the night, honking, beeping, and banging, usually at 4AM. Yum! The reply from this place is a laugh. How is midnight to 5 AM dumpster removal and delivery trucks parking in the center of a small side street with incessant honking and yelling outside the patients' and neighbor's windows deem reasonable? We have been trying to work with the administrator if the facility for 6 months and nothing had changed. Their delivery trucks forced traffics to drive on sidewalks and even block ambulances that were going to emergencies at nursing home. If you are a patient here, make sure you don't need an ambulance in the middle of the night. They won't get to you in time.

“I’ve been a New Yorker my whole life and had no idea about The Phoenix. You never really know about such centers until you need one. The Phoenix is a gorgeous facility. And the concierge there is just so warm and kind. Brooklyn’s finest, no doubt!”

Don't believe all the recent 5 stars reviews. They are written by the staff to mask complaints. According to the New York State Department of Health's website (photo below), the Phoenix Rehab and Nursing Center has around 30 complaints per …

The therapy was great. When I came in I was welcomed by the social workers and the nurses were very nice. The following day, they came in and assessed me and once I started occupational therapy with Kimberly and PT with Joe, everything took …
